Missionary Training School Coach

The role is based out of Atlanta, GA.

This position will appeal to women and men who are passionate about caring for others, listening well, encouraging and championing those who are looking to take their next steps of ministry as God leads them. This role is best suited for someone who is comfortable taking a metaphorical back seat and assisting another person as they pursue God in the matters of heart posture, spiritual life, interpersonal dynamics, and general emotional health. The purpose of this Atlanta based position is to equip and train women and men for cross-cultural service in other countries. As their coach, you will encourage, support, and at times challenge students as they share and process their experiences and curriculum throughout the Missionary Training School Semester. This ministry role can be part-time or full-time. Support-raising is required. The Missionary Training School Coach primarily works onsite in Atlanta, GA.


Qualifications

  • Must personally embrace GFM’s purpose, vision, values, and statement of faith
  • Must have a sense of calling from God towards this position and a willingness to persevere through hard times (Rom 1:6; 1 Cor 1:1)
  • Must identify as a maturing believer in Jesus Christ with a high view of Scripture (2 Tim 3:16-17; Col 3:16-17)
  • Must demonstrate humility, teachability, and an ability to work well with others (Eph 4:15)
  • Must display advanced interpersonal relational skills and be dedicated to peacemaking (Heb 10:24-25)
  • Must function well both independently and in a team environment (1 Cor 12:25-26)
  • Must attend GFM’s intensive 5-month Missionary Training School (in person or online) or equivalent training as well as continuing education
  • Must be willing to be licensed or ordained as a minister
  • Must be able use or learn internal communications and technology systems (Email, Google Drive, Slack, CRM, etc.)

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer and coordinate Coaching of MTS students
  • Facilitate and coordinate the occasional Heart Training
  • Primarily work individually to encourage MTS students weekly
  • Lead and guide Family Groups along with another coach
  • Receive weekly training and encouragement in our Coaching Check-in meetings
  • Coordinate with other GFM staff to provide feedback on student growth
  • Check-in with the Lead Coach throughout the semester
  • Participate in team meetings, staff worship, staff meetings, staff reports, and Slack check ins
  • Stay informed of the needs and opportunities within GFM and in the Community
